I’m back in the room….well, back at the keyboard to be precise. If you have read the Greenhouse update, you really should, you will know that we have been mad busy potting-up all of the plants into final pots and preparing the main greenhouse for the season ahead, so keyboard time has been limited. This year’s selection of chilli and pepper plants is not as diverse as the previous years but we do have a lot of different varieties, mainly as a result of requests from commercial customers and concentrating on the most sort-after varieties.
You can find the full list of chillies growing this year, along with all of the other plants in the greenhouse, by following the Greenhouse link here or at the top of the screen. We definitely have a lot going on this year with numerous trials and demonstrations taking place, new stages of developmental strains to reveal, some different tung- burning pods to lick – yummy/ouch! Talking of tung-burning-yummy-goodness, Plantasia is now stocking some of the country’s best award-winning, artisan chilli sauces and condiments made by some very lovely people. Cool Daddy’s Hot Sauces, Devon Chilliman, and Khoo’s Hotsauce are the first brands on-board and we are proud to be an official reseller. All of the products are made fresh in the UK in small batch quantities. Some are very hot, some are very not! But all are bursting with wonderful flavour. You can see the full range here on the website and add them to your order or pop into the shop and pick some up in person. There are gift sets to!
We also have a good selection of potted up plants for sale in 5 litre pots and they are looking superb standing at approx. 40-60cm tall. These are a mixture of superhot varieties, cayenne types and jalapeno. You can see the varieties on the Greenhouse page or contact us by phone, email, or social media for availability. In the next Chilli Update I will be looking at some of the trial that are happening this year, a sneak peep at some dev. Strains, and a review of how the plants are developing. See you back here in a couple of weeks time for another Chilli
