These pots are only for use with hydro clay 8-16mm or hydro clay mixed with a large substrate a rack of wool or mapito. As the water enters the pots it forces all the old stale air out of the growing medium and as the pot free drains in the net pot it allows a massive boost of oxygen. This gives crystal white root hairs and a truly healthy root zone and plant.
